BrightLocal sells local SEO software and a managed local SEO service. Here is how our managed service compares, and the lead work it adds.
Checked September 30, 2026, against BrightLocal's own pages
BrightLocal sells a local SEO platform, rankings, listings, reviews and reporting, plus an optional done for you local SEO service, to local businesses, agencies and consultants.
Our managed service covers the same local ground and adds the CRM, website chat, texting line and phone answering that BrightLocal's product pages do not list.
For a local business, we replace BrightLocal and do more. It is also the closest to what we sell, since it offers a managed local SEO service too.
Keep BrightLocal if you want software your own team runs, need Bing rankings or manual citation submissions, or feed its data into your own tools through its API.

The BrightLocal column comes from BrightLocal's own public pages, read on September 30, 2026. Not listed means we did not find it there, not that BrightLocal lacks it. If something has changed, tell us and we will correct it.
What you keep, what changes.
What you keep
- Your review history. BrightLocal's reputation page lists exporting review data, so download it before you cancel.
- Your reports. Its help center has an article on downloading reports and data as PDF, CSV or XLSX. Keep your last ranking and citation reports as your starting line.
- Your keywords and locations. The keywords and locations you track come across, and we set a grid around each location.
What changes
- One team for listings and leads. The same strategist who keeps your listings and reviews also runs your chat, texting, phone answering and follow up.
- Bing and manual citations. We track Google rankings, a 7 by 7 grid and citations. We do not track Bing or submit citations by hand.
- Your reporting. A morning brief every day, a monthly strategy deck and an executive digest.
Moving from BrightLocal, in three steps.
- Tell us what you have
Your BrightLocal locations, tracked keywords, citation reports and review sites.
- We set it up
You download your review data and your last ranking and citation reports. We load your keywords and locations, set a grid around each one and set up review monitoring through the directory network.
- You review and switch
You compare our first reports with your last BrightLocal ones, then review requests switch over.
A person reads every request and replies within one business day. Nothing your customers see changes until you say yes.
BrightLocal questions, answered.
BrightLocal also offers a managed service. How is yours different?
BrightLocal's managed local SEO service covers research and strategy, website optimization, content, daily Google Business Profile management, citations and link building, with an account manager. Ours covers local search too, and adds the lead side: a CRM, website chat, a texting line, an AI phone receptionist, email campaigns and ad account care.
Does Digital Ingenuity track rankings on Bing?
Not today. We track Google rankings and a 7 by 7 map grid around each location. BrightLocal tracks Local Pack, Organic and Maps rankings on Google and Bing.
Can I take my review and ranking history out of BrightLocal?
Yes. BrightLocal's reputation page lists exporting review data, and its help center has an article on downloading reports and data as PDF, CSV or XLSX. Download what you want to keep before you cancel.
Is Digital Ingenuity a fit for agencies leaving BrightLocal?
Yes, if your agency wants the work done. Agencies get the managed service under their own name and domain, a client roll up and a marketplace to resell add ons. If you want software your own team runs, BrightLocal's white label reports and client dashboards suit that better.
