Compare · Semrush vs Digital IngenuitySemrush or us?
Semrush is a large research toolkit with a Local toolkit inside it. Here is the local work we would run for you, and the research we would not replace.
Checked September 30, 2026, against Semrush's own pages
Semrush sells a large set of marketing tools for search, content, social, local and AI visibility, with a Local toolkit for any business with a physical location.
If you mostly used it for local rankings, listings and review requests, our managed service does that work for you, with a strategist running it.
We replace the Local toolkit as work done for you, and add leads, chat, texting and phone answering. We do not replace the research engine.
Keep Semrush if keyword, backlink and competitor research is your daily work. We have no keyword database or backlink index of our own.

What you keep, what changes.
What you keep
- Your keywords and rankings. Semrush's help center describes Position Tracking exports to Excel, CSV, Google Sheets and PDF.
- Your listings record. The Listing Management listings tab exports a CSV with every directory and the location's status, name, address and phone.
- Your reviews. The review help article lists no export. Reviews posted on Google and the review sites stay there, and we monitor those sites through the directory network.
What changes
- Research. Keyword research, content and link work arrive as work from our search partner, not a tool you log in to.
- Who does the work. A strategist runs local search, reviews and the rest; the crew proposes overnight; you approve.
- Your reports. A morning brief every day and a monthly strategy deck, in place of the branded PDFs you scheduled.
Moving from Semrush, in three steps.
- Tell us what you have
Which Semrush projects and locations you track, and which keywords matter most.
- We set it up
You export Position Tracking and your listings tab. We load your keywords into rank tracking, set a map grid for each location and load your listing details.
- You review and switch
You compare our first grid and rankings with your last Semrush export, then decide what, if anything, to keep.
A person reads every request and replies within one business day. Nothing your customers see changes until you say yes.
Semrush questions, answered.
Can Digital Ingenuity replace Semrush?
Partly. We replace the Local toolkit as work done for you: map rankings, listings, Google Business Profile posts, review requests and replies, rank tracking, site audits and AI visibility. We do not replace Semrush's keyword database, backlink analysis or market research tools.
Does Digital Ingenuity have a keyword database or backlink index?
No. We have no keyword database or backlink index of our own. Keyword research, content and link work are delivered through our search partner as part of the service, so you get the work rather than a research tool to log in to.
Can I bring my Semrush keywords and rankings with me?
Yes. Semrush's help center describes Position Tracking exports to Excel, CSV, Google Sheets and PDF, and a CSV export of your listings with every directory and its status. We load both on day one.
Who should keep Semrush?
An SEO professional or agency that does keyword and competitor research every day. A local business that bought Semrush for local rankings, listings and reviews, and rarely has time to log in, can hand that work to us.
